Lewis County PUD Commissioner elected WPUDA president for 2008

Lewis County PUD Commissioner Charles R. “Chuck” Ten Pas has been elected president of the Washington PUD Association for 2008.

The Washington PUD Association represents 26 public utility districts providing electricity, water and sewer services, and telecommunications to 1.6 million customers across the state.

The association also represents Energy Northwest, a coalition of public power utilities that operates the Columbia Generating Station, the state’s only nuclear power plant, as well as wind, solar, hydroelectric and biomass generating facilities.

The WPUDA Board of Directors elected Ten Pas this week during the association’s annual meeting in Seattle.
Ten Pas, a second-term PUD commissioner, served as the association’s vice president this year. He is a retired teacher and school administrator.

The WPUDA board also elected Grant County PUD Commissioner Tom Flint to serve as vice president for 2008, and Skagit County PUD Commissioner Robbie Robertson to succeed Flint as secretary-treasurer.
